About Sylvia, the founder of ILTT

Hi, I’m Sylvia Skinner — a classroom teacher, creative educator, and founder of I Love To Teach 101. With over 30 years’ experience as a teacher, principal, and now K–12 Art specialist, I know just how much teachers juggle.

This isn’t just a site full of teaching resources. It’s a mission to empower educators who love to teach through creative classroom organisation, art integration, and SEL strategies. Tools that are practical, inspiring, and shaped by real classroom experience, mine and yours.

A portion of every resource also helps provide essential supplies for under-resourced classrooms in the Solomon Islands.

Excited.

I am really excited about what I Love to Teach has to offer. It’s a real way to support us in our busy and often overworked occupation. Regardless of where we are in the world, we all have one thing in common and that is wanting the best for the students we work with.

I have found Sylvia Skinner a joy to work with: a dedicated teacher and inspirational leader, who raised others’ expectations of their abilities and who demonstrated in her attitude and work output what could be done.

Why ILTT helps teachers in need

I’ve taught in Australia, the UK, and the remote Solomon Islands — where my husband and I helped establish a primary school. Those island years changed me. They taught me how powerful simple resources and strong organisation can be for both teachers and students.

That’s why a portion of every I Love To Teach 101 purchase supports practical classroom needs in the Solomons — from teachers housing to simple things like whiteboards, markers, and art supplies that are often hard to come by. So when you use our resources, you’re not just saving time — you’re part of something bigger
