Who’s behind I Love To Teach?

Just a teacher who’s still loving it — and wants to help you keep on doing the same.

Hi, I’m Sylvia —

And I really do love to teach. With over 30 years in education as a primary teacher, principal, and now a K–12 Art teacher, I’ve learned that creativity and organisation aren’t opposites—they’re a teacher’s secret strength.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned? Even the smallest resource can make a world of difference. That’s why I started I Love To Teach 101—to help you stay inspired, organised, and creative, while also supporting teachers in under-resourced classrooms.

My passion for equity began in the Solomon Islands, where I helped build and lead a primary school for eight years while my husband served in the national hospital. That experience showed me what teaching can do—even with limited tools and boundless heart.

A substantial portion of every sale from I Love To Teach 101 provides resources for teachers in the Solomon Islands.
