Description
Creating and maintaining an effective learning environment requires rules. And who better to help create those rules than the students themselves?
With my classroom rules cards, you can establish rules with your students that create shared responsibility and build trust.
It’s important to not just focus on the rules, but also to get to know your students as individuals – their names, interests, and so on. You can use this information to help make the classroom a more fun and welcoming place for them.
With my classroom rules cards, you get both the rules and the personal connection piece down pat!
My name is Sylvia Skinner, and I approve of these classroom rules cards! Just kidding – but I do think they’re pretty great.
Each card can feature a different rule, such as ‘be respectful’ or ‘use kind words’. The colourful design is eye-catching and fun which will help keep your students interested.
How to use my gold classroom rules cards
Write a classroom rule on each card, print the 4 or 6 classroom rules cards, laminate and display them in a step stairs effect, or 4 cards in a square or 6 cards in a row.
If you don’t want the rules on separate cards, print one card in a large size with all the classroom rules written on it.
But rules alone aren’t enough. You also need to get to know your students as individuals – their names, interests, and so on.
That’s where my classroom rules cards come in. They not only list common classroom rules but can also provide space for you to write your students’ names and other individual information if you wish.
Please note that this is a download and it is a PowerPoint file so make sure you can download pptx.
Don’t want to print? Add the classroom rules cards to your teacher’s website or Class Dojo or Google Classroom so they’re viewable anywhere.
